Following a visit to the United Methodist Home for Children in Mechanicsburg, PA, --and witnessing first-hand the great need of the children - the two bachelor brothers decided to help by providing for UMHC in their wills. The resulting $600,000 bequest allowed UMHC to open an emergency shelter on their existing 83 acre campus. Since 1997, over 2,000 abused, neglected, and abandoned children have found refuge in the Frederick C. and Charles E. Daron Emergency Shelter. The brothers' vision was to "Leave A Lasting Legacy" dedicated to helping young lives in need. Each year, that vision grows and extends far beyond what these caring and wonderful individuals could have ever imagined. While the Frederick C. and Charles E.
